STOP2In the wake of the recent spate of violence across Central Brooklyn, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and City Councilmember Robert Cornegy will hold two separate events tonight to help galvanize the community to action.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams will host a “Safety + Awareness Event” in the courtroom of Borough Hall. This event, part of National Safety Awareness Month, will promote personal protection and well-being for families and children. Activities will consist of home safety and self-defense workshops for youth and adults.

WHERE: Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street, Courtroom

Also, City Councilmember Robert E. Cornegy, Jr. will join 20 community groups (including kids) to creating full-sized silhouette cut-outs of people that they will place on street corners around Bed Stuy where someone was shot and killed. He will officially unveil the silhouettes at a Gun Violence Awareness event on June 20.
