6a00d8341c77b053ef00e54f699d7c8834-640wiThe Brooklyn Museum on Monday announced a call to musicians and producers of all genres– from classical to calypso, brass band to bossa nova– to create an original score to accompany the Jane and David Walentas Fountain in front of the Museum.

A popular area where visitors, children and the local community gather, the Jane and David Walentas fountain runs every day from 8:00am- 6:00pm and from 8:00am – 10:00pm on Thursdays.

Participants may email submissions (via soundcloud or yousendit) to: [email protected] with the subject line “Score the Fountain.”

Submissions are due July 30.

The general public is then invited to come together on Thursday, August 14 at 6:30 p.m. to hear the final compositions in front of the fountain. This event is free. For more information, view the site’s calendar here.
