On Saturday and Sunday, from 12:00pm – 6:00pm, visitors can meet working artists in their studios and discover some of the best art being made in Brooklyn, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and ceramics.

The SONYA Art Walk is a unique event:

• It covers some of the most evocative neighborhoods of Brooklyn, from the elegant brownstones of Fort Greene, to the warehouses and lofts around the Brooklyn Navy Yard and the energy-filled streets of Bedford-Stuyvesant.

• It fosters genuine cooperation between artists and community members – local businesses not only sponsor the Art Walk, they also host artists’ work and serve as information hubs.

• Visitors have the opportunity to sample some of the best cafes, bars and restaurants in Brooklyn.

There will be a Preview Exhibition Opening Reception on Thursday, May 15, from 6:00pm – 10:00pm, at 122 Washington Ave (Btwn Myrtle and Park).

There also will be an After Art Walk Meetup on Saturday, May 17, 6:00pm at Marietta’s, located at 286 Grand Avenue (between Lafayette and Clifton Place)
