Barclays Center

Well…

Apparently, not only do Brooklynites live in the greatest city in the nation, but now their neophyte stadium– Barclays Center– also is ranked No. 1!

On Friday, Barclays Center was named “2013 Arena of the Year” at the 25th Annual Pollstar Awards on in Nashville, TN. The award was decided entirely by Pollstar subscribers through an online vote.

The new arena beat out a long list of heavy weights, many of which have been around for decades, including Madison Square Garden Arena (New York, NY), SAP Center at San Jose (San Jose, CA), and Staples Center (Los Angeles, CA).

Also, according to Pollstar, Billboard and Venues Today’s 2013 year-end reports, Barclays Center finished first in revenue and tickets sold for major U.S. arenas with capacities of 15,001 or more.
