City Parks Foundation opened registration for their Spring Learn environmental education programs and Spring Play sports programs.

City Parks Foundation opened registration for their Spring Learn environmental education programs and Spring Play sports programs. The programs provide free and low-cost programs to students, youth and seniors in all five boroughs. 

"CityParks Learn is proud to offer a robust series of inspiring programming for the Spring season. Our programs provide environmental education opportunities for youth in all five boroughs, allowing New York City’s parks and waterways to become natural classrooms," said Chrissy Word, director of education at City Parks Foundation.

CityParks Play Youth and Seniors

Youth Track and Field

City Parks Foundation Track and Field Program

  • Programs run 4/20 - 6/22, Saturdays and Sundays (see below) 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Available to youth ages 8-16
  • Kaiser Park (Coney Island, Brooklyn) - Saturdays

Youth Golf

Lessons at CityParks Junior Golf Center

  • Registration Opens on March 20th
  • Programs run from 4/8 - 6/21
  • Available to youth ages 6, 7-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14+
  • CityParks Junior Golf Center (Bay Ridge, Brooklyn)
    • Ages 7-9: Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 4 p.m.,Thursdays at 4 p.m. Sundays at 1 p.m.
    • Ages 10-11: Mondays at 4 p.m., Tuesdays at 4 p.m., Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., Fridays at 4 p.m.,
    • Ages 12-13: Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:45 p.m.,
    • Ages 14+: Mondays at 5:30 p.m., Fridays at 5:30 p.m. Sundays at 9 a.m., Saturdays at 2:45 p.m.

Walking

  • Monday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Amersfort Park (Flatlands, Brooklyn)
  • Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., South Oxford Park (Prospect Heights, Brooklyn)

CityParks Learn

Green Girls

Open to 6th-8th-grade female-identifying students at the following Brooklyn school:

  • Site 4: Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter School (South Slope, Brooklyn)

Sessions are held Mondays - Thursdays from 3-6 p.m.

Coastal Classroom

Open to 6th - 8th-grade students attending the following Brooklyn schools:

  • Site 3: PS84 at Bushwick Inlet Park (Williamsburg, Brooklyn)
  • Site 4: PS288 at Kaiser Park (Coney Island, Brooklyn)

Learning Gardens

Open to 2nd-8th grade students in the following Brooklyn schools:

  • Site 2: Abib Newborn Learning Garden (Brownsville, Brooklyn)
  • Site 3: ENY Success Gardens (East New York, Brooklyn)

Programming is currently open for the Spring session.

Learning Gardens Summer College Internship Program starts in July 2024. Register here.

Seeds to Trees

Open to schools serving students 2nd-6th grade in all five boroughs.

Programming is now open for the Spring session.
